Apr. 30, 2012 Update

Hello Everyone:

As tradition dictates, here's an update on what we're up to:

1. We have purchased and delivered QTY 4 ASUS 24" monitors for the SETI at Home lab.  These new monitors should be up and running in the lab by the end of Apr. 30.

2. In order to connect the JBOD to PaddyM, the SETI at Home lab requested another 3ware RAID card with attached battery backup.  Our donors took up this challenge and fully funded this item in 48 hours.  We will order these parts later today and have them delivered to the SETI Lab via express shipping so that we can get the PaddyM server up and running.  You can track this purchase as it makes its way to the SETI at Home lab by visiting www.gpuug.org/purchases.

3. We are hoping the SETI Lab will give us the green light for a series of projects we have planned which will provide the Lab with much needed equipment.  More on this later as things unfold.

4. Our webmaster Phil is also working on improving the website.  One improvement will be an easy to use feature which will allow interested parties to donate hardware to our various projects with a greater sense of ease.  Once we unroll this new feature, I'll follow up with a newsletter to keep everyone apprised.

That's all I have for now.  Thank you for your interest!

Warmly,

Brad Deauman - Executive Director - GPU Users Group Inc.
