Jan. 14, 2012 Update

Hello Everyone:

Here's a few updates from the project:

1. At the time of this update, we're only $370 away from fully funding the remaining QTY 21 2TB hard drives which will finish populating the JBOD at the SETI at Home offices.

2. The SETI at Home team is currently working on implementing the aforementioned JBOD into their systems.  Matt Lebofsky at SETI at Home posted this picture of the JBOD RAID our donors donated earlier this week.  Here's the picture: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/~mattl/01122012/jbod_back.jpg which was posted at this link http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=66635.

3. We're ready to roll out with a new fundraiser to build the SETI at Home team a custom tailored Download/Upload server which will replace their aging and ailing download and upload servers.  Once we wrap up the JBOD hard drive fundraiser, we'll implement the Download/Upload server fundraiser.

4. Thanks to the generosity of the SETI @ Home Direct donors who chose to donate directly to SETI via our Paypal feature, we were able to send SETI at Home a check for $3700.  The check has since been delivered and put to work by the SETI team.

That's all I have for now everyone.  If you have a few dollars to spare, please consider donating to our current projects so we can either finish out the JBOD RAID or further our progress on the Astropulse Server we're building.

Warmly,

Brad Deauman - Executive Director GPU Users Group Inc.
