The parts for the new Astropulse/NTPCKR and Download servers all finally arrived! I spent the morning assembling the pieces and getting the new machines ready to ship out to SETI@home, so here are some pictures of them in progress.
The assembly was painless and both machines have a nice system board layout, though I like the Supermicro machine a bit better. It has much better fan control versus the Intel machine which only has "extra-loud" and "insanely loud." I hope their server room has good noise isolation! Read more »
